Hi guys,
I am trying to assemble:
Asus A7N8X deluxe
AMD 2500
Antec Sonata True 380

and cannot get it to post!!!! Nothing. No beep, no video, no bios setup, nada.

I have double and triple checked the wiring and I think I am OK. The motherboard green light is "on" and the AGP light on the mobo does not indicate a problem either.

Can anybody offer ANY suggestions......as you might guess, this is my first baby.

....and yes, I am reading the all manufacturer's websites right now......

PLEASE!!

thanks in advance.
peace-out.

Does the cpu fan turn? Did you try booting out of the case, maybe you have a short somewhere or standoff in wrong position. Also try clearing the CMOS.

Chances are its your motherboard.

I had the same problem before. I didn't have your exact motherboard but a P4 board instead. It would turn on and everything and green light on the board would be on but no beep or POSTS.

So its your mobo most likely.

Plug a powered speaker into the speaker plug in the back (the green socket). It will tell you why it won't post.

Make sure your volt selector is correct on the back of the Power Supply. Had that happen once on a NEW case from Newegg where it wasn't set right for our voltage.

Take everything out except the minimal components.

Take the mobo out of the case and try out to make sure it's not a short.

If you can try another PSU to ensure it's not a PSU problem which I have encountered as well. The lights came on and such but it couldn't generate enough power to actually get the system started.

If all of these fail you more than likely have a bad mobo which is quite common. I am working on one now with that same problem. An old Compaq somebody needed help with.

Good luck!
