Help!No audio from DVD player on Vaio lappy

I have a Sony PCG-f630 laptop. When I insert DVDs I get video but no sound when using Windows media player. I recently changed the OS from ME to XP.Any suggestions would be appreciated. I feel like I've downloaded all the latest drivers.

i am not into laptops but that stated ...

did it work before?
did you enable all sound (properties check all boxes and turn up all volumes?
sometimes they hook up wires to aux,tad-in or well you get the picture enabling all the devices ensures you find the right one on desktops

yea you probably did this but wasn't it mentioned so...

also do you get sound at anyother time audio cd's etc if so they above is probably right
if not check bios and see if sound is still enabled and check device manager for drivers/conflicts
