Help needed with my 4890

So I used 2 of XFX's DVI -> HDMI adaptors to connect both my 46" Sammy and my 32" Sharp in clone mode using HDMI cables. When I use the HDMI audio on the video card, for some reason only one display gets sound. At first it was only the 46" Sammy. Then when I tried the Sharp by itself a few days later, that got sound but a later reboot muted it for the Sammy. Now even if I turn the Sammy on w/o the Sharp, it still doesn't get any sound. I wanna say that there was at least one moment when both had sound but I can't remember clearly if that was the case (pretty sure it did happen though.)

The only other clue I have is that the later reboot (the one that muted the Sammy) had my stuff in "Extended Desktop Mode" rather than clone mode. Help!

PRetty sure you can only get sound out of one HDMI port on an ATI card. There's only one HDMI sound card inside the GPU, not two.

Oh well, that sucks. Just so you know the port that the sound actually came out switched too. It was the one on the left now it's the one on the right. Do you happen to know if nVidia's pass-through method allows simultaneous sound from both?

If you are using both to display the same image couldn't you just use a splitter to run both off the same output?

Do you mean an HDMI splitter? Didn't know there was such a thing. I know there are HDMI switches...
