im havng troubles trying to get my DVI-D connection to work on my new LG 19" flat screen TFT, the analogue 15 pin D-Sub works but when the DVI-D cable is pluged in there is just no picture being produced, the monitor just states it is going into power saving mode (basically not receiving any signal from the DVI-D connection)

do i have to set anything in the video settings to get this to work, like to output a digital signal or somthing for the graphics card?

i have tried to check and i stumped ..please can you help :)

Is there a source button on the monitor, you may have to manually change it to the DVI source.

there is a source button on the monitor when i press it with the analogue plugged in it just refreshes, when i press it with the DVI-D installed it just states "Digital power saving mode" then turns off onto to stand by :confued; .. is there anything i need to set on the graphics card options for it to output digital? Because that is the only thing that i can think of.

You need the DVI connection hooked up right when you power the system on. Else the link won't be detected, and stays inactive.

thanks guys having re looked at it, i think i just rushed into it, i have now connected up the DVI-D, and it is working fine, this time i made sure the DVI cable was plugged in only and not the D-Sub, and then made sure the source was picked up by pressing the button.. thanks very much for the help .. :D

Just another query my monitor is supposed to support 75Hz refresh rate, and it did with the D-Sub connected, but now that the DVI is working it only allows me to use a refresh rate of 60Hz, is there a reason for this? as one of the main purchase points was the 8ms response time?

thanks again

EDIT: not to worry i have over ridden the refersh rates so that it will run at 75Hz :) all is good

and once again thanks guys :D
