Help needed...its for school...

I have a palm zire, and the ppl at palm said my palm was past the stupid 90 day warranty. The guy told me that my digitizer was screwed up, and i should try to get a patch for it somewhere. Anybody know where to get a working one, or anybody had the same problem with their zire?
