Help needed for my wireless network network

Hi,
Since this morning I've been trying to figure out what is the problem with my wireless network.
Yesterday it was working totally fine, and this morning, all of a sudden my computer isn't recognizing the router anymore. The wireless router, on the other hand, seems to detect the computer. I don't know what happened. I barely use the computer connected wirelessly (it's my brother that uses it the most), but I make weekly scans for spyware and viruses, and I know that there aren't any viruses. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Justin

What do you mean by not detecting it ? Not connecting ? No IP ? Can it see the router in the softtware ? Just not able to get on the Internet ?

well it doesn't seem to be getting any signal at all cuz i isn't connecting to the internet, there's no IP ... nothing.
It's very weird.

Is the power light in the back of the Linksys Instant wireless PCI card supposed to flicker ?
How about the link light ?

Ya, reboot sounds like a first step. Also, might be sure the client is physically close to the router for troubleshooting. You might try to disable and then enable the wireless interface on the client...sort of a reboot of the nic.

Well I did all of this and nothing happened ...
I think it might be the card itself that has the problem, cuz my friend who has a laptop with a wireless card connected without any problems to my router.

Uninstall the network card and its drivers.

Physical remove the NIC

Reinstall using the directions that came with you NIC. Some require you install the software before you put the NIC in. If possible get any updated drivers.

When reinstallling the software be sure to use the drivers on the CD or updated drivers, not the old drivers it may find on your laptop.
