help needed for laptop monitor.

Hi, everyone:

I am using a Dell inspiron 8100 and encountered one problem. Really need help from you.
The laptop's monitor suddenly becomes very very dark after a hibernation.
I tried to connect the laptop to an additional CRT, it works well.
And I checked the brightness and the power supply.

Last night I left the laptop on for a whole night to make the battery empty.
But the problem remains.

The O.S is winxp home edition. Video card is nvidia gefore2go 16mb.
If any other information needed, please pm me or reply the thread.

Is the display okay before going into hibernation?

yes, the monitor is o.k. before the hibernation.
did you ever encounter this kind of problem before?
actually the monitor had once come brighter and brighter (better and better) when I switch between the additional monitor and the laptop monitor.
but seconds later it went to darker and darker and returned to bad condition as before.
