I have a m/brd here that I can't identify :( ,this is what I have found out so far.

It's a PC chips board
It has onboard AGP SiS 6326 graphics chip with 8Mb of dedicated video RAM
It has 3 PCI slots & 1 ISA slot (micro ATX I assume)
It has temp monitoring
Onboard sound
VIA chipset ,possibley a VT 691
On the chipset heatsink it has written PC100 ,BXTOO ,the other chipset chip has (amongst others) these numbers on it - PC82C596BX.
Bios number at bottom L/H corner of bootup screen - 2/8/1999-M760V-v2.24
FSB speeds shown in the bios 66,75,83,100,112

I have been to the PC chips website (which is crap!) ,& it is a total waste of time :| ,it doesn't list the above m/brd anywhere :|.
Can anyone help me identify it so I can upgrade the bios and find out what the max cpu supported is?.

You know... you made me pull my PC Chips mobo out of the drawer to look at it! :p

Judging by how the mobo numbers are going on their site, there seems to be a pattern to them. I would hazard that since you have a 760 and all the "7xx"s are PII or celly, that yours is as well (I have a 726 I believe - can't tell because I can't find it on the mobo but I do still have the manual).

I know for a fact that a cumine slot card won't work in them (aside from me trying it, I also realized it would be voltage prob), but maybe you could use a FC in a sloket to adjust the voltage.

Look HERE.

About 3/4th's the way down the page, Slot 1 boards.

You'll find the M760 listed with the jumper settings.

If anyone has any old "junk" mobos lying around I've got all the parts for a celeron 550 system sitting right next to me. I've been looking for a good price on a used 100mhz bus mobo for some time now. It's going into my crack closet. In the closet so far is a Cyrix clocked at a true 233mhz, and a mac clone at 132mhz. I'm working on a p100 and this 550 that's only missing a mobo.

Anyone have a BX or other mobo lying around they could sell me for a good price? please reply.

Hey bartman, I don't know of any deals right now since I haven't been looking lately. Awhile back Jatwell had some ZX based Tekram mobos for something like $45 new in the box but I think I bought the last of them from him.:) I checked the Tekram site and they don't have any ZX or BX based boards right now.:frown:

Justdeals has some Asus P2Z(99)-B mobos for $59.95 right now. I know that's not really cheap but I guess it's not that bad for an Asus. It'll handle a P3 but I don't think it'll take coppermines. BTW I think it's got connectors for both ATX and AT ps so that could save a little money going with an old AT supply.:)

Thanks guys ,I knew you could help :)

It is the M760V m/brd that I have ,now all I've got to do is too see if the m/brd has the latest bios or not.PC chips website doesn't give any version history :(.
Same thing with the VGA bios

Oh yeah ,it looks like I'm getting 16hr WU's from it ,GUI v2.04 ,PII 233 @ 263 ,CAS2 ,Turbo RAM timings.It was getting 15-16 hr WU's from CLi v2.4 with it @ 233MHz
