THANKS SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED THEIR OPINIONS! VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Don't forget the 120mm fan.. you wanted nexus right? That'll add another $10-15. Get the Opteron from monarch or tankguys. On monarch, the retail Opty is cheaper than the OEM one. I guess nobody uses stock cooling.

Any reason why I should go w/ monarch or tankguys? Lowest price available from the RTPE said ewiz (admittedly I've never bought from there). If I go w/ monarch (which is fine, since I will be getting the case from them), I presume that the stock fan is easily removable?

Damn, just checked out tankguys and they've got some pretty good listed prices (but I haven't checked for shipping yet).

So NEXUS is a brand? I just went with the recommended panaflo fan at frozencpu, but that was another 20! I didn't any nexus brand there ...

- Monarch is good. Check resellerratings.com for Ewiz.
- Nexus is a brand.
- Stock fan does not come preinstalled to the CPU or anything, so you'll just have a spare heatsink/fan (HSF) lieing around.
- Note that the stock HSF is actually pretty good. Keeps my 3700+ cool at 2.8GHz and 1.5V. Never above 43C at full load, a Prime95 torture test for hours.

Panaflo is a different brand of fan maker, also sold as panasonic in some cases. I wouldn't worry about the difference it's still a top notch fan, it's just i prefer the Nexus orange 120mm fan, it's dead silent and pushes enough air to cool my CPU. Then again the panaflo fan is pretty much the same noise level and pushes the same amount of air... 😉

Nice computer you're getting there, what i'd have bought if i'd thought for a bit longer on it. 😀

Thanks again all =D

Reseller ratings for ewiz are good.

Found a place to get the orange Nexus 120mm ...
Bobthelost: I thought that you were recommending the orange b/c it goes w/ the MOBO, haha ... but I think that's a good reason to get it regardless, haha.
