Help! Need to know how to save drivers

Got a friends machine that was given to her with no CDs or floppies etc. This means we have no install disks. I want to format and load Win9X but dont know if it will have drivers for her video card, tape backup and sound card. Found the name Conner on the tape but nothing else. I thought I read that you can copy drivers from the drive to use later. I need to know where they are located and how you tell whick is which. Appreciate any and all help. This is the first time I have run into this. I allways make sure and keep everything for mine.

Well, if I were u... just to be sure I would take out each component that you don't know what it is, and locate any model numbers or specific chipsets it may be using. Then install your Win98 and see what it can install on its own in the way of drivers. If it does not install everything.. just goto a place (assuming you have manu, model #'s, and or chipsets) www.windrivers.com and search by manufactuer or device....

Hope that helps...
