Help, Need Programs

I am suppose to go help out one my parents friends tomorrow and get her computer to run smoother. I was there the other day and had to fix their internet connection and save some thigns from going..horribly wrong lol. Anyway i now need some help finidng programs or ideas to help it run smooother. They are a family with two girls, they dont knwo anything about computers and put a bunch of junk on it. Obviously i will run Adware and such but any other suggestions?

just go through their add remove program listing and remove all the crap and tell the parents that these programs are badly made and slow down the computer

also, try spybot
