help, need lcd replacement for my Compaq notebook

Does anyone know where to get cheap lcd's for notebook computers? I Broke my 13.3 inch TFT on my compaq presario 1700t: Part # 198699-001. From some of the quotes I've gotten, it would not be worth fixing. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a good time to replace your old laptop. I don't think it's possible to do it yourself. I've heard of people who try to make their own laptops but most don't get anywhere

try eBay. There usally is a few laptop screens there.

Agreed; I did that for a laptop; found a very close replacement, though it wasn't identical, so I did have to make some slight modifications to the laptop's casing. It was a Dell; the screen was $125 on eBay; Dell wanted $599.:Q
