Well... I need a new LCD for my omnibook 6000 but
where can I find one for a decent price? I can't find
any on ebay and HP wants $400-$500 for one.

Anyone know where I can get one for a fair price?

TIA!

$400-500 is not bad, especially since you will probably be getting the plastics and FL inverter along with it. My wholesale cost on LCD's is not much below $400. Your cheapest bet is to remove your LCD and do a search on eBay for the model number of the LCD rather than search for Omnibook 6000 LCD.

Well I paid $330 for the laptop as is with a broken LCD ( just cracked in one corner )

Still usable for the meantime but UGLY.

So therefore $400-$500 for a lcd is out of the question. Do you
know a site online that would tell me the LCD part number. I don't
even have the laptop yet to start ripping apart :).

Thanks.

Man and Machine might have a matrix of LCD compatibiltiy, but you should wait till you receive to verify what LCD is actually inside as manufacturers sometimes switch to a cheaper LCD, plus you will then be able to verify what the connectors should look like.

i got a guy on it for you, if he comes up with a good price i'll let you know, i'll let you know if he doesnt too... but as stated above, you definitly want the OEM of the LCD panel, you can match brand name and model number, chances are youll get it cheaper than just searching for "Omnibook 6000 LCD"

*EDIT* whats the size of the screen? 13" 14.1" 15"? if you know that would be great it will help, if not, its ok, we'll wait till you get the unit and you can measure ;)

PM me the "F" number underneath the unit, that will narrow the field to exaclt what model 6000 you have to assure we get the right screen for you =)

I await your reply *crosses fingers*
