Help - Need Direct TV System w/o Programming Commitment

Everyone seems to offer cheap or free DirectTV systems but require at least 1yr service contract and premium service. Anyone seen ads for good deal to buy equipment only w/o service?

eBay is a good place along with checking the newspaper, garage sales, etc.

When I bought my 1 room Directv system about a year and a half ago it cost me $99 with free install at Radio Shack
and that was with no commitment. Which was good because a few months in the cable company screwed up and
started giving me all the cable for only the basic $14 price so I cancelled the Directv. Then the neighbor moved and
they fixed the box so I had to go back to Directv after about a year free cable.

Tomorrow I am going with digital cable for the whole thing since I got a hdtv and dont want to buy a $500 box for
satellite. The cable company is giving me $150 for the system so Im happy 🙂

Yea, but how many of those channels are really digital... that's what the cable company doesn't want you to know.

Last year BlockBuster Video had a promotion. Free installation and equipment. No contract needed AT ALL. You need to find something like that. Oh and by theway, post these in th "I WANNA" thread.
