Install XP Home w/ the fruitiest interface imaginable, bonzai buddy, kazaa (running ALOT of shared files), and a few other adware programs for S&G. That way using it is so painful of an experience he won't be able to take it.

There programs that will filtre out his web surfing.

NetNanny comes to mind. This way you can set rules that he may not be able to get around.

This is the most logical suggestion.

wasn't netnanny disabled by a 7 yr old? I remember reading something to that effect once.

Pull the plug at night. Tell him to get the work done before everyone goes to bed. Monitor his web use.

Bah! Just do what everyone else wants....call your congressman and get the internet censored for Timmy's moral fortitude.

😀

edit: oh yeah, try to get a timer type program that only allows computer use during certain times.

Notice I said "may not be able to get around".

Nothing is fool proof, but other than disconnecting the service at night, this is the best solution.

Cable modems kick a$$. With a CM you now have better control over the network. Faster speeds for downloading and updating. Its all good.
