Help my notebook sounds like an airplane

I just bought/received a Gateway M275 notebook/tablet w/WinXP Pro w/SP3 and1GB RAM
I like the laptop (though the keyboard REALLY stinks)
however the real problem is that when I do anything the fan goes on, computer slows to a crawl and sounds like an airplane.

Any idea?

You might have a dust build-up problem.

Or failing fan(s) + dust.

Yeah i bet it gets hot and the battery life sucks too.

open it up. and clean it. dust bunnies!
