My local community center has an absurdly small budget. They've got about four PowerMac G4's with dead hard drives, and they've got no money to replace them. And they desperately need money to fix recent water damage.
So, what do I do?
I start a casemodding competition!
The rules are simple: I give a local artist a computer case, he makes it look good. We take said cases, and put them on display at a local gallery; they'll also be sold in a silent auction. They'll be judged in three categories:
-Best graffiti-style paint job
-Best non-graffiti style paint job
-Best use of lighting, windows, and more.
In addition, I'm personally providing a PC to whoever's case is auctioned off for the most money.
I've got some flyers up, and a few cases. (I can get more, if necessary.)
But what would you reccomend I do to make this successful?
I was thinking about working with some of the artists to see if we can cram a heatercore and pump in one of these machines. Cases set up for watercooling are generally worth a good bit more, and I'm not too bad with a torch.
Also, I'm looking to get some (REALLY cheap) cases, lights, fans, and more. Any tips?
As you can guess, I'm not entirely sure of what to do now. Any suggestions are appreciated. Also, if you're in the area, feel free to get a case from me and start modding!
