I just applied the latest updates for my Win98SE (like the HD patch). OK, I've got two problems:
1). When restart my PC, my HD (WD 45GB) shuts down! It wakes up again when my Promise ATA/100 card detects it or when Windows loads, then it will power up again. What is going on? OK, when it shuts down, the screen says "Windows is now shutting down your PC" but then the HD already shuts down itself. Then, it wakes up again! Thus, my PC doesn't shut off itself (it does before). Help.
2). My drive is ATA/100 capable but when the Promise card detects my drive, it says it sets it to UDMA/4 mode. Why?
BTW, I applied this patch called "Windows IDE Hard Drive Cache Package" and is that the shutdown patch?
Thanks.
