Your 1.5 GB missing is probably slack space, that space eaten up by small files under FAT32. If you have a 60GB partition, then your cluster size is at least 16K, if not 32K. That means all of your file sizes are rounded to the nearest 16K (or 32K) to fill an entire cluster (and if you create a file, type a single byte into it, it will be 16K on the disk). Norton should have a utility that will report your slack space. (Windows will only tell you the sum total of actual file sizes, not their size on the disk).
