Help!!! My dvd rom drive doesn't recognize dvds

When I try to open e:, my computer says no disc in drive e:. Same thing with power dvd. Cd's work fine though. I have a lite on dvd rom drive that I got from dell a while ago. It was working fine before. Now it doesn't. I dont know what happened. Help again.

I had the same problem with a eMachine DVD-ROM drive (model Samsung SD-604). I would be interested in a solution if anyone has one.

Did any errors come up when you checked System Devices?

Have you tried updating firmware to the latest?

Does your OS detect it as a DVD Drive or CD Drive?
