Maybe he means the OS that ran on the famed Atari ST, etc.

In what way it is functionally matters? Atari "died" about 20 years ago.

I'm with Jack. Forget about it and STOP trying to educate your boss (unless this happens to be your job). You may indeed be able to enlighten him, but if you make it a big deal and embarrass him you'll have a strike against yourself.

Just smile and shake your head - then walk away.

Your boss must be thinking about MiNT. Atari used it in their STs but they didnt make it.

Atari founder also founded Chuck E. Cheese's.

IIRC (according to TV show I saw, I think on CNBC), he could have also gotten in on the ground floor of Apple, but declined. (Steve Jobs apparently worked for Atari for a while): http://www.cnbc.com/id/18803664
