The nzxt is even cheaper at micro center. 85$ without a rebate. So ill prob pick that one up tommorrow along with a CPU and MB. Going to skip the red ram on you guys suggestions.

Did not know blue drives were faster than black. Good info and thanks!

Awesome that you can OC on the cheaper MB. Any other drawbacks except lack of sli support?

Cerb he is already gaming on my 7970 rig. I think he is addicted. My TV is hooked up to a high end plasma and I can't tell any difference between it and my monitor except size. Am I doing something wrong? He also has a high end plasma and no real room to add a monitor. Not sure why he would bother unless he gets 1440 at some points (I'm getting one FIRST lol).

Thanks agains for all the help

No. Just that from 3ft, with a typical LCD, it's really easy to see the pixel edges, so when going from that to seeing a current console's output, the perceived difference can be much more than if comparing console v. PC at a distance (except that your PC won't be a slideshow, for a lot of newer games :)). From further away, you tend not to see quite so much pixel-level detail.

Ugg. Did not know the mb was not able to oc. That changes things. Might as well get the 4770k and asrock.

Thanks for heads up. I would have been very upset.

I'm not sure why you're jumping right to the 4770K. The 4670K is eligible for the same combos at Microcenter and is a good match for a gaming rig.

80$ in what has creaped up toward a 1000$ rig is only 8%. It has the wow factor for his friends and if I ever sell it it might bring a couple extra bucks. Its not like it will perform worse? Was trying to stay on a resonable build budget but as usual it spirals out of control. If Im into it for a grand might as well do it right.

Overkill is generally not "doing it right". Just FYI.

Possibly, though, future console ports might use 8 threads, so a 4770K might have an advantage. But that's a pretty big "might". $80 is a 2TB 7200 RPM HDD too, you know.

4770K is overkill for most gaming rigs. I know I own a 3770K my self but I got it for cheap. 3570K would get me the same framerates in 99% of games

The problem is that that $80 can be put to better use elsewhere. So, no getting a 4770K is not "doing it right" because there is so much else to upgrade. For example, $80 is the difference between a GTX 760 and a 7970.
