this is my first time building a PC. Along with the Turbo, I have a 1.2 t-bird, crucial PC133 etc inside a enlight 7237 case. So far I have the chip, HS/fan, RAM, and video card connected. When i turn the power on the fans start up for a few seconds and then it powers off. I'm not sure if i got all the leds and switches properly grounded. they aren't marked with + or - the power switch and the leds are white and other colors, the speaker is black and yellow, while the reset is grey. i'm assuming they white and black wires are the negatives, but i'm not sure if thats even the problem.

please help!

What did you do to solve this problem?
I'm having exactly the same problem with exactly the same setup.
T-bird 1.2 (266), CoolerMaster DP5-6H11 heatsink/fan, Crucial PC133 CAS2, Enlight 7237 case, ATI AIW Radeon.
When I power on, 4 red LED's come on, it switches to #1 green, then #2 green, then back to #1 green, then back to #2 green, then it powers off. This process takes about 2 seconds.

I thought maybe the CPU fan is causing the problem, because it just twitches a couple of times, but never starts spinning. I hear that "smart" fans will start up lazily, so maybe the fan is just a lazy starter? I actually ordered the 6H51, but the idiots at newegg.com shipped me a 6H11 instead, and now apparently don't carry the 6H51 any more.

This is a very easy fix...
First, there is nothing wrong with it, its jsut annoying.
Second, its caused by the Power Management Setting

look for something that says "state after power loss"..its set the "auto" for default. Change that to disable and it will be fine.

Need4Speed, That fix might work if I could keep my system on for more than 2 seconds. I have no way to get into BIOS settings.

also make sure that you have the jbat1 jumper in the right position. many manuals have a misprint regarding this issue. I believe that u need to have pins 2-3 shorted in order to boot.

Well, I never did even look at the jbat jumper. Maybe it comes from the factory with the jumper set to clear, and I need to move it. I'll try that out when I get home tonight. Thanks for the idea.

Well, now it seems to be completely dead. I tried changing the CPU fan, and at least this time the fan spun (my last one just wiggled a bit). The new hsf made no difference to the board though. The system would power itself off after 2 seconds. So, I tried moving the jbat1 jumper from the 1-2 pins (that's what the online manual says), to the 2-3 pins (that's what my manual says). When I plugged it back in, and flipped on the power, nothing. I tried moving the jumper back to 1-2, but it's still dead. It's been silent ever since, not a single led blink. I suppose it's time to complain to newegg and MSI. The fan they sent me didn't spin, and now the board won't boot at all. :(

Maybe I'm just an idiot, but it's working now! I completely took it apart, and tried an older ATX board. It still didn't power on at all. Bad PS? no, bad Spocko. I did notice that there was an extra standoff attached to the case, but not where a screw in the mb would go, so I removed it so it couldn't short anything out on the MB. I put it all back together again, and powered on. This time it came up, and stayed up! The ps is ok, the mb is ok, everything is ok! At least for now. Maybe it was that extra standoff screw holding thing that was shorting out the mb. Anyway, I'm in business!
