ok so I am writing a paper at school on a borrowed laptap and my paper comes up in Word with all the Pronunciation marks and space dots in between all the words. I hit the big double P to get just the normal layout and nothing happens except it shows one return. What can I do to get these damn dots out in between every other word?????

Sorry Paper Due tomorrow and shatting my pants! :p

Well i think i had a similar incident

In my word2k, every time you press space, tab, enter, or bold something, a funny mark appears

Those funny marks didn't appear while printing so it didn't bother me..

Solution: Tools, Options, View, Formatting Marks: Uncheck anything unwanted. I didn't like them at first when my dad put them on, but i got hooked on it and appreciated the little things like the dots for spaces.

you think thats wacky?

try this:

1. Open a new document.
2. Type: =rand(200,99)
3. Wait

For once I have to defend MS. It's not code bloat, it's a function that you call with 2 parameters (if my memory is correct it'll paste a test phrase 99 times in each of 200 paragraphs...). You can try playing around with the parameters if you feel like it.
It's actually pretty usefull when you just want to insert some nonsense text somewhere, to demonstrate a web design for example, or for a template.
