i just put windows 2000 on an old pentium 2, 266 mhz, geforce 2 pro vid card, 160 megs of ram. before I install the video drivers, the screen stays flicker free. when i install any drivers for the geforce whether it's the standard windows 2000 drivers off the cd or the new drivers off the nvidia website, the screen now blacks out every couple minutes. has anyone had this happen?

my one guess was maybe since the vid card has ddr ram, the rest of the system doesn't support it? any other suggestions? thanks!

200 W power supply...i didn't think this was a big deal. I had a voodoo 3 in there. didn't think a geforce 2 took that much more juice.

have a 17.2 gig WD 5400 rpm hard drive

one 50 x cd rom and a basic sound blaster 64 sound card.

umm..only things i have on this pc right now are winamp, service pack 3, and remote administrator, and the software for an addtron wireless usb adapter

very unusual.
when you say "blacks out"- is this going and staying black?
If it is coming off and on, what is the interval? x min on, x min off
Does any tasks that you are doing affect this interval/ blackout process for better or worse?

The only thing that I see a potential problem in is the low amount of ram (recommend @ least 256M), but I don't see that as a probable source for your pain...
