Help modify boot loader

I just got windows 2000 installed in a dual boot config.
But it took several attempts at installing. Now I have
extra entrys on my boot selection page I need to get rid
of. I believe boot.ini is where I need to make Mods.
but I no longer have one (C: or D🙂 I used too
but it went away. can someone help me clean up my boot
selection page?

Open notepad and try to open C:\boot.ini (replace C: with the first lettered volume on your hard drive). You probably won't see it, but it's there.

Ok...I found my boot.ini and I edited it (actually I replaced it with one
suggested by another member) it works fine except the command /fastdetect
shows up in between my to boot choices. its not aproblem but its confusing,
is this command necessary for my boot loader to work or can I edit it out of
my boot.ini?
