Hey guys, I need help figuring out a way to mimic the functionality at lowbrow.com/lowbrow.org (Hey to you true 'browers out there).
They take two very different approaches to the same functionality: random posts on a main page, with links that take you to sub-pages, one of which is a 'submit your moment' page, which then leads to posts that are emailed to and approved by a moderator. These moments are then stored in a db I presume that feeds the random moment functionality of the main page.
My question, how would I go about creating a site similar to this? The original lowbrow looks to be using javascript/html/perlscript to create the original 'post-a-moment' model. The knock-off .org uses .asp/.net to create the same look and feel.
I tried to go the route of blogging software like WordPress since I have little to no coding skills. I ran into a brick wall there, and most have told me that the software is overkill for what I'm trying to accomplish.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction for a starting point? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-D
