WHAT FANS SHOULD I GET TO REPLACE THE ONES IN THE CASE?

Antec Neopower 480W - $113.93 (i'm bidding on one on eBay, if i dont win, i'll get from store)

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Winchester - $161 BOUGHT

MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum nForce4 Ultra - $176 (i'll get one from the next shipment from Newegg)

WHICH RAM SHOULD I GET FOR THE MSI BOARD? I want 1GB STICKS, so that I can upgrade to 2GB later without using all 4 DIMMS

Pioneer DVR-109 DVD+/-R DL - $100

Win XP Home OEM - $101.60

Why not get a case designed for quietness, so you dont have to replace the fans, like the sonata?

For the ram, just get the cheapest 1gb sticks you can find from a brand you know.

Yes, if you dont get 2x512meg sticks, its won;t run in dual channel, and that will hurt the performance.

Yes, but I thought you said you would strt with 1 stick? I don't have very much experience with fans, but I thik I've heard that the panaflow fans are some of the best and quietest case fans you can buy. Not too sure though.

Why are you getting the pioneer drive? The NEC is a little faster and much cheaper, though if you ant quiet, I've heard the ben-q drives are nice (and cheaper).

goos luck finding an X800XL at that price that isn't backordered for weeks. If you do manage to find any, I'll bet they will be much more expensive than that. Since they are competing agaist the PCI-e 6800gts, they may be raised to as high a $450...

SilenX fans are amazing from what I hear. Magnetically suspended bearings or something.

As far as I know, SilenX > Panaflo L1A > Vantec Stealth.

EDIT: typo'd
