Swap tower for mid tower, swap HD for SSD. You be glad you did for both of those, mid tower moving around or working on is much nicer than full tower, be surprised how much you move it. Most people don't bother with full towers unless they building home server.

HD to SSD is just the best upgrade you can do.

Other than that looks good. 700watt PS or around that be plenty.

I agree with imaheadcase. I'd definitely get an SSD even if it means dropping your CPU from i7 to i5 or GFX from 980 to 970 to fit a budget. By all means get an HDD as well for secondary storage, but SSD vs no SSD difference for the OS & many applications & games is like night vs day. Agree with the case as well, full tower is overkill unless you plan on adding a ton of drives. If you only ever intend to use just 1x GFX card and 1-3 drives, many are going for compact Micro-ATX systems these days.

Advice is meaningless without a budget framework.

But full tower is overkill and no SSD is an oversight.

I had my original build in a mid-tower HAF932... it was too big for my purposes, I can't imagine building a single GPU system in a HAF-X or similar... just no reason for it.

You might also want to list what games you intend to run... you might be better off with an i5 and put the money you save towards that SSD, etc.

As far as RAM, just get a 2x 4GB set of 1600 RAM on sale from a known supplier (G.Skill, Crucial, Team, etc)

Don't forget an OS.

I will not Overclocking
In that case, spring for the 4790K. It's clocked higher than the regular 4790. To compensate for the price increase drop the mobo to an H97.

Sounds like you might be over budget? In that case I'd suggest dropping to a GTX 970. Or waiting a month and seeing what AMD comes out with. There's even some chance that will lead to a drop in 980 prices. (I don't expect a drop in 970 prices.)

The HAF XM is a mid-tower. I'd know, as I have one. HAF X is a full tower, and the case is excellent for the price.

HAF XM is undeniable bigger than your typical mid tower in every dimension, it is closer to a full tower than a mid tower in height. It supports EATX motherboards and has eight expansion slots instead of the typical seven you see on mid towers. I'd consider it a "super mid tower".
