I just recently purchased a Samsung 955df 19" flatscreen CRT monitor. Unfortunately, I have been having problems with certain refresh rates. Specifically, at refresh rates of 70, 72, and 75, I am getting a vibration like effect on the picutre itself. In some cases, on side of the monitor will seem to warble. What is strange, is that it is fine at 60hz, or anything 85hz and above. Unfortunately this is a budjet monitor so at resolutions at and above 1280x1024 it will only do75hz. I have checked for obvious sources of interferance, by shutting off my speakers, printer, clock, and even my tower and using a laptop instead. I'm at a loss. When i call samsung, they tell me there is a small chance that the monitor is at fault, but it is likely a result of some type of outside interferance. I really dont want to move it because it is so damn heavy.

Has anybody had any experience with this? If so please help me out. BTW: I have tried to degausse, and it seems to help, but its effects are not permanent.

Thanks again for your help fellow techies!!!

I've got the same monitor. The only interference I've had (other than from other monitors) was when my surge protector was sitting next to the rear of the monitor. I was getting shaking all across the bottom of the screen. It's fine now that the surge protector is 6" away from the monitor, even with 7 power cords going right under the back of the monitor. The only thing I can suggest other than the usual culprits is checking how close any outlets are to the monitor.

Well, my surge protector is under my desk. Do you think it could cause a problem from that far away?? I'm not sure. Does anyone else have any ideas??

Thanks again

oh lets talk about wobble, my fathers screen wobbles all over the freaking place is so annoying! Its has to do with a bad ground on your main powerbox in the house go outside and look at where the ground is going in the ground and see if the wire is attached to the 8 ft pole going in the ground, also make that its attahed in the box! BUT BE CAREFULL DONT GO TOUCHING ANYTHING IN THERE! Also make sure that you have a three prong switch to plug into! Grounds are so important we will be redoing my fathers ground soon so i'll let you know how this works out !
