What Im doing is replacing my Volvo head unit (sc811) with a new Panasonic unit. Anyway, Im taking out a double din and only putting in 1. My future plans are to fill the empty slot with a video screen, but that will come later.
For now, what I want to do is mount a pocket underneath the new HU, but instead of using it for cds or whatever, I want to Have a backlit display of some sort.
What I was thinking of was etching a piece of plexi with a cool graphic (Volvo related of course) and backlight illuminating it with some blue leds.
Now the question to all of you is what should I use? Keep in mind, it has to fit some pretty odd space constraints (like 7 x 2).
Give me some examples of what you guys would think would look good.
