help me wit COMPAQs

sorry guys wrong button... well newayzz heres the story..

once upon a time.. 2 compaqs were running and decided to restart... one was a compaq armada.. and the other was a compaq desktop
both computers start up and gives you the no os message.
the bad thing is the lappy here doesnt seem to respond to the cdrom whcih means the cdrom doesnt work and so does the floppy.. well floppy i cant be too sure off the the cdrom doesnt have ne power in it at all.. and i put in a boot disk in the floppy one and it still gives u the system error replace disk and press any keys.. and no it didnt come with a compaq cd like IT SHOULD!!..

Could be that a virus attacked your compaq and changed the BIOS bootup instructions. I would do two things.

1) Remove the CMOS battery from the systemboard. keep it out for approximately an hour or two.

2) Look for a BIOS update from the Compaq website for the model of Compaq you have and reflash the BIOS.
