Help me tweak my OC system purchase!
Hey, I'm trying to build a system that does decent overclocking. This will be the first time i'm overclocking a system. I would like to overclock the cpu and graphics card but not trying to do any extreme OC'ing, just an average performance boost. I posted this on another message board and this was the only responce I got.
"if you are going to OC...get a Fortron 400W at the very least. That Antec 350 W will be no good for any moderate or above OCing. ALso, if you want to OC (even if it's not extreme) spend a few extra bucks and get the EPoX 9NPA+ Ultra for $105. It's got serious OCing ability (on par with DFI LP Ultra-D) and is very stable."
here are my system specs:
motherboard: EPOX EP-9NPA3 ULTRA - nFORCE4 CHIPSET
graphics card: EVGA N384 GEFORCE 6800 256MB with ZALMAN VF700 cooling fan
memory: 2 x 512MB DDR400 reusing from my old pc
case: Antec SLK 1650b 350w
Oh and I forgot CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+
I ordered these parts already, but I can do whatever to change them out. They havnt shipped yet.
