I'm pretty new to the DDR game.. with plain old SDRAM you just go into the bios set everything 2, 2, 2 .. that was easy.
I just switched my crucial ECC 256 meg stick over to Cas 2 .. it's working fine but my benchmarks aren't much better than at 2.5.
What other memory options can I set in the BIOS to get better memory scores?
Thanks.

That's better :)

How risky is it to up the FSB too much? This board doesn't have a 1/5 divider ... so if I run it at 150 FSB how much danger am I in of crashing my HDD?

Sweet. Well, click on my rig... I'm using a KT266A based mobo and running at a 148 FSB with the most aggressive RAM timings and settings. You are technically running a risk when your OC the FSB and run your PCI and AGP bus out of spec but even up to 150MHz ... your PCI and AGP cards should be able to handle everything just fine.

Just try it out from 140 and inch your way up 1MHz at a time... make sure you're stable... I'm way too scared to go anything over 150 although several people on the forums runs their FSB higher than that (of course, some of these guys have a divider option and others don't).

Good luck and have some fun.

EDIT: Oh yeah--you're Maxtor HD should be able to handle it as well.

Most AGP cards can handle well above 66MHz without any problems. Don't worry there.

The likely issue you'll encounter is with your hard disks and (some) optical devices. I'd recommend using a PCI add-in controller to run your hard disks off if you plan on doing 40MHz+ PCI. Most disks can't handle it and you'll end up with a corrupt volume. 75GXPs were really good with high FSBs, but perhaps that contributed to their demise? :D

Yeah .. that's the thing. I can't afford to have corrupt files. I have way too much work to do over the next month (last semester of school EVER!!!) and if I have to reinstall windows again I'm gonna off myself.
Actually .. this whole thread is a big procrastination excercise. I'm supposed to be doing schoolwork :) HAH!

/me says bah to schoolwork.
