help me to answer a question about ebay?

I am selling a port replicator on ebay with a buy it now price $60. the price is at $72 now, which someone else could've buy it for $60, but he/she didn't.

I guess the people who were bidding on it were stupid enough to get the price above the buy it now, good for you since you get 12 dollars more :D

if someone bids on a buy it now auction and it's below the buy it now price, it reverts back to a normal auction, later bidders cannot get the buy in now price.

if you have a Buy It Now (BIN) price listed in your auction... then one of three things will happen

1) if there is NO reserve price set on the auction, then the BIN option will disappear as soon as someone places a bid. The auction will then run as normal and many times the auction end prices beats the BIN price, but the hight bidder probably would not know what the BIN price was since it disappeared witht he first bid.

2) If there IS a reserve price... then the BIN price will remain on your auction until the reserve price is met, or someone opts to BIN. Once the reserve price is met... the BIN option will disappear.

3) Someone will use the BIN option... whereby #1 and #2 dont apply.

oh...that explains it. my auction started at $.99. btw, just sold for $85 :D it is way over my expectation!
