I live in a town of about 50,000 myself. Do you have a car and enough money for a tank of gas? Go to a big city.

I have friends in New Jersey that go to New York and stuff when they're bored. When they were going to school with me at Saint Leo University here in Florida (very rural), we used to go to Tampa at least once a month for stuff to do. We were about 30 miles away.

Small towns rule. You have less crime, cheaper land, and with today's population growth, you're still in driving range from anything. I live an hour from Orlando, FL, home to many theme parks. Isn't there something to do in your greater metropolitan area?

Edit:

Correction: I live in a town of 32886 people. http://www.pe.net/~rksnow/flcountymerrittisland.htm

Correction again: 43,852 people

take her to that pottery place in downtown, you guys can paint some clay stuff. If she's into that kind of stuff that is.

there's 2 movie theaters there! pick a movie and go watch it! pirates of the caribbean would be good.

There's a reason small towns have high teenage pregnancy rates.

This is too true, unfortunately. I saw enough teen mothers when I was growing up in Ramona, otherwise known as the meth capital of the world.

w00t!

<-- still remembers when the population sign beside Pearson said "Mississauga - Population: 280,000"...that was in 1985. A few years later it was at 330,000...by '95 it was 480,000.

You can find stuff to do at Davis, and like NotFred said, you can go to Sac.

IIRC Davis has long stretch of flat roads, you guys can go biking, or get a couple of friends and go rafting.

I can think of at least 10 things to do, and I don't even live in Davis.. yet
