Okay, i need advice on what to get.....i'm going to buy a telescope for my grandfather for his birthday comming up in a week..i've never gotten one before so i need some tips on buying, brand, what features to look for stufflike that, i dont' need a high end one, but it can't be cheap either.....thanks!
 
I thought this was going to be a thread about which PS2 game to buy or something! That is so sweet! I don't know anything about telescopes, but I just thought that was really nice of you to think of your Grandfather first. 🙂
 
Seriously, will need a ballpark on what you want to spend.

Will it be used for planetary viewing, deep sky, clusters or other heavenly bodies.

Or is it for "heavenly bodies" that live across the street?

um, i'm pretty sure i can spend up to around 400, is that enough for a decent one? my mom is paying for it(hehe) so i don't know how much i get to spend, lets just shoot for that

so? i've looked at that telecope.com stuff, looks nice enough, but i need to know what i should get, plz help, i've only got one week left, i'm going to have to use 2 day express mail as it is

i know the perfect scope for you, the problem is that this company that makes it doesnt have a web site and it's located near my place, these telescopes are the best, i bought one myself, they're called danscope~!, and it ranges from $1000-$2000 bucks, PM me and i'll send you a address where you can send the money. 🙂

heh, as a great of a deal that that sounds like, i think i'll have to pass danny.....
i've talked to my mom and i can spend about 200-300 for the scope...any suggestiosn?
