Help me set up a network please

I have two computers in my apartament. A desktop PC and a Laptop. Both computers are new, and both have network cards inside them. My Laptop, unlike my desktop has a wireless network card in it. Can somebody please recommend me a good, stable router? I need one that tolerates online gaming well, because I heared that routers generally do not like online games and have many problems with that. Also, I would prefer a non wireless router, as I heared that wireless is bad for health. I have absolutely no idea how to make all this junk work, so please, if you can point me to a site that shows how to set up a "network" or whatever this setup is called when you make it so that you can connect to the internet from all computers that you have in your household. Oh, and one more thing. I have DSL, and right now, I'm using a trusty old non wireless Westell WireSpeed modem.

Linksys WRT54G. Wireless bad for your health? That's one of the craziest things I've ever heard. Get that router and you won't be disappointed.

Well it wasnt me who said this. I seen many articles on this issue on the internet and in newspapers. Same issue as with cellphones.

Also, there will be a guide included in the router that you buy telling you how to set up the network. There is also a guide here: http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/0,aid,68763,pg,1,00.asp that you can use if the one in the manual isn't sufficient. It's really quite simple to set up.

If you run into any troubles getting it working, don't hesitate to post here and people will be glad to help you out.

i second the linksys. i own 2 of them, and i also bought one for my parents. all 3 have worked flawlessly and i don't have a single complaint. exceedingly easy to use.
