help me refresh some basic commands

Hey i'm going to be putting in a new hdd and xp install this weekend, can you guys just help me refresh the commands for partitioning and formatting? it hasn't been that long since i've done this jive but my memory isn't the keenest out there. thanks. just a quick summary of process

Just plug in the hard drive and boot from the CD. Follow the directions when you get to the partitioning portion of the install procedure. You can start with a "raw" drive and it will work. If you screw up just reboot and start over.
