Help me reading the Intel CPU product code.

How to find out the week of production for Intel PIII CPU? Can you easily overclock 700 to 933 (cB0 stepping)

I went to overclockers.com and most of them got it run at 1 GHz and above...Is it true?

Yea the cB0 stepping is Very good, I'd estimate it to be 900-1000 depending on clock multiplier...
I know this P3-650E (cB0) does 910 without ANY complaints, Stock Voltage and Retail HS/F, it'll do 975Mhz but now I'm puching my RAM a bit, I think I'll need alittle more cooling and voltage to make that rock stable...

I have problems reading those damn production codes too, never got that much into it as the stepping is most important..

I'm kinda scared to buy this CPU, since Intel recall the 933 PIII caused by heat problem. I'm afraid the 700 won't do 933 that easily.

Intel's S-spec/stepping chart is at:

There's a new stepping, c00, due soon, I've heard - supposed to be for the 933.

Well, I finally found the article about CuMine being withdrawed from The Register:

I'm not sure if it's just Xeon or Pentium.

Apparently, Intel only suspended boxed Xeon 933 MHz processor, not the Pentium. This is good news for overclockers 🙂.
