Ok, I've been strictly AMD for a long time, but now a client has requested a P4 system.

I have $850 to spend on it.

Here's what it needs to have:

- P4 2.0ghz CPU
- 256mb ram
- CDRW drive
- good gaming video card
- and everything else a nice computer needs...

So, let's hear it! Recommend to me stable, and yet affordable computer parts!

Does it need a monitor, keyboard, mouse and OS? if so then you prolly wont get all that for $850, but I'll assume your client has the other stuff so here goes:

P4 2.0A $200
Abit TH7II $120
2x 128MB PC800 RDRAM $100
GF4 Ti 4200 $160
CD-RW Drive $80
60Gig Maxtor 7200RPM HD $100
Floppy $10
Speakers $10
Antec SX650 $75
Total $855 I think thats everything.

I would get a 1.6A Instead of a 2.0A

1.6A Retail 138$
512MB PC2700 True Samsung 149$
80GB Western Digital Special Edition 120$
Abit BG7 Mobo 129$
Case and PSU 75$
Radeon 8500 182MB or GeForce 4 Ti4200 160$
Liteon 40X CDRW 68$
On Board Sound Free
OR Audigy 60$
On Board NIC Free
Floppy 8$

Thats 850$ without the Sound Card, But you can use the onboard sound for free and its pretty good now n' days

Bunneh, he just said that his client wants to have a 2.0ghz CPU. I know that he can overclock, but it's not a safe thing. I am currently at 2.48ghz on a P4 1.6a with 512megs of Samsung and a P4s533. Gotta say that I love the bang for the buck!
