help me pick out an XBox game!

Went to Best Buy with $50 in hand and came out with nothing much. Nothing looked that great. I don't really enjoy sports games that much, however sometimes it's cool with friends and stuff (I really liked NFL Blitz and NBA Jam... and aw man can't remember the name of that old SNES/NES football game).

Well, looked like the best games out right now are MechAssault, Metal Gear Solid 2 (which I rented, and it came with no manual, and it's HORRIBLY hard to play - goddamnit where's the gun button, goddamnit how come i'm not shooting him, goddamnit i don't want to crawl i want to punch him, goddamnit how come i fell down i thought i was hanging, etc.), and Ghost Recon.

XBox games I have now:

DOA3
Halo
Simpsons Road Rage
Project Gotham Racing
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2X

Any suggestions? I want something that's really fun single player, but also fun multiplayer as well. Also something not that hard to learn would be cool.
 
if you really like tony hawk 2... get tony hawk 4.. this thing is NUTS to beat.. the challanges are severly tough! im almost done!

I *just* got Tony Hawk 2x for my sister, so she has to beat that first =P
 
Unreal Tourny is real nice!! Motogp if you like motorcycle racing and lots of fun. I love this game and it is available online.

Old NES game was techmoBowl i think! That was the best game ever for NES, Bo Jackson was the man!!
 
I would say Splinter Cell since it 0wnz, but since MGS2 frustrates you, I wouldn't bother with it.

In that case I'd say Mech Assault (plus Xbox Live starter kit if you can).

EDIT: Maybe it was... anybody else can throw out a few old football games?
 
How good is Mech Assault? Is that the one you need that machine joystick thingie for? That is one massive joystick/console.

Rented Tiger Woods and thought it was stupid. No golf game compares to the old Genesis golf.

I have no idea why i rent games b/c all i can play is EQ. Shammys rule!

No, that's a different game. Steel Battalion? I think thats the one with the huge ass joystick thing.

I finished the SP campaign last night. Nicely done.

Multiplayer is a BLAST!
 
Metal gear sucks. That prick they make you play isn't snake and sometimes I just go, WTF are they doing sending this guy in to do these missions? VR missions? Whatever, he still asks the stupidest questions. Granted, its to explain to the player, but they just made him sound liek a dumbass.

I'd personally get either Mech Assault or Splinter Cell. I'm probably one of those crazy pricks thats going to get Steel Battalion (the one that comes with the huge controller) so I'm going to pass on Mech for now.
