Athlon 64 3200+ 939
512MB DDR
80GB
nVIDIA GeForce 6150
ABS Windows XP Home RESTORE DVD

$549.00

i think this is a pretty good buy for him but before i buy it i wanna know what you guys think or if there is a better deal for him out there

That's a nice computer for normal everyday tasks, web surfing and burning DVDs, it's also nice price for it.

The price is pretty good for what you get. If you can build one you can go a lot cheaper to meet his needs - a Socket 754 Sempron 2800+ is more than fast enough.

You can usually get a Dell Celeron-D for around that price with a 17" LCD. It will be a Celeron-D, but those are not too bad.

Overall, not a bad deal on the Athlon 3200+, though.

i think that and a nice external hardrive would be perfect for him

i was thinking about sempron also but the amd 64 will be better poformance for him

If he wants to burn dvd's maybe he'll want to store some as well. Ask him if he's into any kind of media. I was thinking, good overall price...You could take a step down to the sempron though as mentioned before. THat will be plenty. I was thinking maybe more storage...120gb or 160gb hard drive.

brb...finding something.

Looks all good to me though. Just tried to build one cheaper if not around the same price but with what that's god included(like OS), it's a darn good deal. I'll give you that. If your friend can spring for like $800 or save up for just a little while longer though, he can get a fully loaded pc with LCD and what not i'm sure. But whatyou got there is a good deal.

he has a lcd already and he doesnt store alot but it would be nice for him to store some music i think a nice 80 gig or 160 gig external would be perfect for him also !
