I'm thinking about picking up an inexpensive networked security camera for my apartment and have looked at a couple on Amazon so far but wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with them.
Things that I require in it:
I've checked out the Yi Home Camera which is only $40 for 720p but people are questioning the privacy policy. I don't think it's really that different from any competitors' but the part about "pixels" is kinda weird. And currently you can't view feed on a desktop; it's mobile app only.
So I'm kind of leaning towards either the 720p or 1080p Yi camera at this point but am not set on it. I'm thinking now, though, that it would be nice to expand this in the future if I wanted (say, if/when I buy a home). So it might be a good idea to ensure that the system is expandable, though I don't really know what that entails.
Thanks for suggestions!
Things that I require in it:
- Viewable from mobile device or desktop PC
- 1080p preferred but 720p acceptable
- Two way audio. I want to hear what's going on but also be able to talk through the device
- SD card compatible to store any recorded video. Without SD card it just streams and doesn't record anywhere
- About $100 or less
