I have P4 2.6@ 3.2ghz, 1 gig of ram, radeon 8500.

I dont usually upgrade until a deal comes up.

I can get these:

X850XT (AGP) $260
X850XT PE (AGP) $280
X800XT AIW (AGP) $280
X800XL (AGP) $200

I am leaning towards the X850xt or x800xl. I originally wanted to wait for R520 but I am not sure if I want to pay $500 when it comes out. My other option was to get some of today's cards ie. 6800GT/x800 series for cheaper but these prices aren't that bad i guess....

Which one do you think is the best bang for the buck here?

Wow! Where are you geting those cards from for those prices? ANy of those cards would be fantastic. I'd recomend getting the x800xl for now and then waiting a couple months after the r520 comes out to get one of those for less.

The XT PE for $80 is worth it over the XL imo. I'd get that or if i would use the features, the AIW (which is a very sexy card heh)

WHERE ON EARTH CAN I GET THESE DEALS??

I'm guessing he works for/has contacts at some sort of reseller company and can get them at/below cost.

Thanks for the replies guys. Actually a friend of mine works at ATI. So these are just their prices. The company normally had discounts on all cards but now they changed their policy that only 1 generation of cards "behind" gets a discount. That's why I wanted to get R520 at a discount but he told me that the discount on new cards wont be available until R600 comes out. These are US$ (I converted from Cdn using 1.25 exchange rate).

Good luck trying to get a XL to XT PE speeds.

XTPE

I may be wrong but XL = 400/980 and XTPE = 520/1.2

Ok thanks guys I ordered x850xt pe. If anything I figure I can sell it in 1 year for $180 or so and recoup some of the cost. Then the cost of usage for 1 year is only $100. I'll post back when i get it shipped.
