Hi all,

I just got my first smart phone after a lifetime of using dumb phones. It was a gift so might as well take the leap I guess.

I have a AT&T Fusion 2 gophone

http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/devices/att/fusion-2-black-prepaid.html#fbid=RYFkTiqX99G

It says that it can be upgraded in storage to 32gb using a Micro SD card.

I guess 16gb would be fine for me. Problem is what brand and type of Micro SD card to pick?

Sooooooo many different brands and models to choose from.

Mainly need it for music and maybe some games. Not sure I will be using it for videos (???).

I recently got the same phone to replace an aging LG Vue. While I had the LG I'd picked up a 4GB Lexar card from office depot, only class 2 but it was cheep at the time, that I transferred to the Fusion.

I never had any problems with it so I just picked up this one to replace it for more storage, Lexar 32GB $19.99 while OD had it on sale. So far so good.

As for music, the only thing I've ran into is my old LG could play wma files but the Fusion2 cannot.

I will only buy SanDisk SD cards these days. While any card can do well with sequential read/write performance and be called a class 4 or 10 easily, it seem SanDisk consistently makes quality SD cards that perform very well under all kinds of conditions, even 4K read/write.

So I'd probably go with a 32GB Sandisk class 4 (or 16GB if you want to keep the cost down). There are some faster Sandisk UHS-1 SD cards, but people on the XDA forums are finding these to be a bit less compatible with some devices.

Those Samsung cards listed are very good. I have used several in the past(& currently have a class 10 64gb in my Note 2).
I had 3 Sandisk class 10 32gb cards fail me in 1 1/2 years time.

Those blue Samsung Class 6 cards are the best deal in the industry.

Yes, they look good to me from what I read so far.

Thanks for all the replies and input from everyone here.

I have decided to get the Samsung Class 6 card as seen in the link posted in this thread.

I have Samsung cards in my and the wife's phones, and they work flawlessly. Class 6 is plenty fast for a phone, but I'd go at least 32GB if you plan to store music and can install apps on the card.

I just buy Kingston Class 10 -- only camera I have that recommends Class 10 is my GoPro and that's only when it's taking continuous shots, which I never use. However, the cost different is miniscule, so whatever.
