Help me pick a HSF for a athlon 64 2800+

Hey, could use some input....

I wanted a good HSF thats realatively quiet... or with speed adjust, i dont really care if its loud while gaming cause i have a headset on, but when idle id like it to be quiet.

I was looking for something under $40 and space-wise a Zalman cnps7000 will barely fit, so it cant be anylarger than that

whatchall got for me best bang/buck/quiet?

If the Zalman CNPS-7000 will fit, then you may want to go with that. I don't have an Athlon 64 (I have an XP with a Volcano 9), but almost everyone on this board will recommend either the Zalman 7000, the ThermalRight XP-90 (which is designed to fit all A64 motherboards), or the ThermalRight XP-120 (huge; will not fit on some motherboards). You need a separate fan for the ThermalRights.

Alpha would be another good choice if the Zalman won't fit.

This one, its the only A64 model they make. You'll need a fan for this as well, I'd recommend a Panalfow M or L1a.
