Help me pick a camera (w/poll)

i have the sd300, which i am happy with. do you really need the sd400? as far as i know, the only difference in the # of pixels.

have the sd400... so I can only give you the pros/cons of it, it may still be better than the S1.

Pros:
- quick power on, 1 sec & it's ready to go
- great movie mode, you'd never believe it was made from this digicam
- nice big LCD
- sufficient macro mode

Cons:
- no-flash pictures are grainy
- [proprietary] battery life is pretty poor - no warning when low - must get an extra off ebay for ~$20
- red eye is pretty strong on these, must use red-eye reduction mode most of the time

(of course there are more of these pros/cons on dpreview, but those were the ones that I experienced personally)

If it's close, always stick with Canon. ;)

I would go with the Canon. These reasons:

1. It has audio with its video
2. More manual functions
3. More shutter speeds
4. While the LCD is .5 inch less than the Nikon, it has more pixels. The nikon is spreading less pixels over a greater area, thus a grainier LCD.
