Im trying to find a good version of linux to try out on my main computer, i also have windows 2000 on it, i was wondering if there were versions online that you can download, put on a cd, and how to put it on my computer. if anyone can help that would be great.

Have you used linux at all before?

I would try Knoppix or Ubuntu first. You can download, burn to a CD, and boot up and run linux from the live disc without installing it.

If you want to try it out further after that, search Google on how to dual boot linux and windows 2000.
