A while back I used an application that would allow you to convert .DAT files from P2P programs like Kazaa and Morpheus into watchable video files. Say, for instance, you were downloading a movie and got all but about 1mb at the end. WIth this program you could convert that incomplete file into a watchable movie file. Does anyone know the name of a tool like this or where I could get it? It would be much appreciated 🙂

I tried changing the extension, and it still doesn't work. I have DivxFix, and unfortunately it's not for converting .dat files to movie files. It is for unfinished .avi files that need their indexes rebuilt. Thanks for the suggestions anyway 🙂

I know there is a program that does what I need.. I used it once a while back, but have since reformatted and forgotten the name of it 🙁 Someone please help!

Yes. It cannot find the index, and preceeds to try and rebuild it anyway. Then at the end it says that there has been an error and no index could be built.

It will work with some files, mp3's and mpegs but I think mov's and avi's need to have the full file.
